Greenville Police Search For Waffle House Robber

Police said a man walked into a local Waffle House late Tuesday with craving for cash, not a meal.

Sergeant Mike Broadwell with the Greenville Police Department said at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday, someone called in an armed robbery at the Waffle House at 306 SE Greenville Boulevard.

Officers said they arrived to find out a black man walked into the restaurant with a gun drawn, demanding cash. Police said the robber was wearing a black hoodie, a white t-shirt pulled over his face, and blue jeans at the time.

The crook took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Though the Pitt County Sheriff's Office sent over a K9 unit to help track the robber, police said he got away.

No customers were inside the Waffle House at the time of the robbery, according to police.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt.

On December 11th of 2013, police said the same Waffle House was robbed at gunpoint by two men. Those two also got away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt in that incident.

If you have any information that may help police track down the robber, you are asked to call the department at (252) 329-4315.
