Greenville Names New Assistant City Manager

The city's chief planner is switching gears in Greenville, taking the office of assistant city manager.

Greenville announced Monday that Chris Padgett had taken over the spot permanently. He had been functioning as the interim in that position since October of 2012.

The city said Padgett was one of three finalists for the job after a national search for candidates.

The job entails administrative work and management in multiple departments including Recreation and Parks, Financial Services, and Public Information Office.

Padgett's work kicked off Monday morning, April 15th with a base salary of $119,454.
