Greenville Man Accused Of Selling Copper Wire From Utility Poles Arrested

Pitt County deputies arrested a man they say tried to sell copper ground wire from utility poles at a local metal recycler.

Deputies arrested 32-year-old Charles Lovick, Jr. of 803 Bradley Street in Greenville.

On July 11, deputies were contacted about Lovick trying to sell the wire.

Officials say when they arrived at the metal recycler, Lovick lied about where he got the wire from. Lovick later admitted to cutting the wire from at least seven utility poles in the area behind Piggly Wiggly in Greenville, according to officials.

Lovick was charged with felony injuring utility wire and fixtures and is being held on a $10,000 secured bond.
