Police have charged the driver of a vehicle who was thrown from an SUV Thursday morning.
The accident happened around 10:00 a.m. at Old Fire Tower Road and County Home Road in Greenville.
Police say Detra Columbus of Winterville was charged with failing to stop for a stop sign. Officers say the woman was heading east on Old Fire Tower Road, went through the stop sign and struck Geraldine Whipple's car.
Columbus was thrown from her SUV as it flipped and landed on the driver's side.
Both drivers were taken to Vidant Medical Center where Columbus is in good condition and Whipple in fair condition Friday afternoon.
A busy intersection in Greenville was closed down for a while this morning after a two car crash.
The accident happened at Old Fire Tower Road and County Home Road around 10:00 a.m.
Police say one person was thrown from a black SUV after it landed on its side. That person, and the driver of the other vehicle, were both sent to Vidant Medical Center.
The intersection was allowed to reopen about thirty minutes after the accident. There's no word yet on how serious the injuries were in the crash.
