Greenville Event Honors Cancer Survivors

It was a celebration of life aimed at honoring cancer survivors.

The inaugural "Community Survivors Day" was held in uptown Greenville Thursday.

The event was organized by the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, and brought together organizations from across the community to celebrate living a healthy life.

Live musicians played for the crowd and activities like a dunk tank and face painting were available for kids.

Vendors were on hand providing information about everything from cancer screenings and treatment to family violence prevention and health and nutrition.

Organizers say it's great way to honor those who've won their battle with cancer.
