With the 4-unrelated rule approved for Greenville's University neighborhood, the process of implementing changes is underway.

City council members and their appointed citizen working group assessed homes on Tuesday during a neighborhood walk through. They found 20 homes with code violations, and they weren't just rental properties. The committee says some of these homes were owner-occupied. City councilwoman Marion Blackburn says there is one positive thing to take from the walk through.

"We're all coming together, and we're all seeing the problems, and we're all trying to work on some solutions despite our disagreements," said Blackburn.

The next issues to tackle for the working group are street parking and sanitation. The group meets once a month.
