Two candlelight vigils illuminated Monday evening in honor of Martin Luther King Junior Day in Greenville and in Chocowinity.

In Chocowinity, Southside High School's Student Government Association organized vigil. People gathered on the town hall lawn, singing and took turns reading pieces of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech. Joyce Moore was there and says if Dr. King was here to see us today, he'd see his dream has come true.

"I think he is so proud to see us together. His dream was that we could all come together. Forget about race and all this. Just be one, one nation under God," said Chocowinity Resident Joyce Moore.

In Greenville there was a vigil on East Carolina University's campus. We spoke with one student, Donnie Carr, who told us if it weren't for the sacrifices Dr. King made many of his classmates might not be able to attend school at ECU together.
