Greensboro Recycling Fire Seen For 20 Miles

A huge pile of recycled household goods is burning in Greensboro, and smoke can be seen for more than 20 miles.

WXII says the fire is at D.H. Griffin Wreck Company on Hilltop Road.

The Greensboro Police Department says what's on fire is salvaged household appliances.

Police say the fire itself is contained, and crews are trying to get to the fire by removing large heaps of recycled goods.

Authorities say the smoke from the fire is not hazardous.
