Gov. McCrory Rides In Fourth Of July Parade In Town Of Faith

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory is riding in the Faith Fourth parade, an annual weeklong celebration that takes place in the small Rowan County town of Faith.

The parade started at 10 a.m. and ends with the raising of flags and a performance of the national anthem.

Organizers say about 30,000 people attend the event, which was first held in the town of about 800 people in 1946.

A website about the event says volunteers prepare 500 pounds of barbecued shoulders, 5,000 hot dogs, 7,000 hamburgers and bring 5,000 ice cream cones to feed the crowd.
