Goldsboro police said the driver of a tractor trailer carrying frozen chickens went through a red light, hitting another tractor trailer.
According to officers, the accident happened in Goldsboro at the intersection of Highway 117 South and 117 Alternate around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the driver carrying frozen chickens hit a tractor trailer carrying cucumbers when a light turned from yellow to red. Police said cucumbers covered the road, but the DOT cleared the scene.
The driver who was hit did go to the hospital, but authorities said his injuries were minor.
Police gave a citation for failure to stop at a red light to the at-fault driver.

The accident happened close to 10:00 p.m. Saturday, blocking both lanes of traffic on U.S. Highway 117 South and the main thoroughfare into Goldsboro, according to officials.
