Mark Gentner has been named Vice President and General Manager of WITN. WITN serves the Greenville-New Bern-Washington television market with studios and offices in Chocowinity, Greenville, New Bern, and Jacksonville. The announcement was made Monday by Nick Waller, Regional Vice President of Gray Television Group, Inc.
Gentner has been with Gray Television for five years as General Sales Manager at WITN, managing the sales and marketing of WITN and WITN.com. In his new role he will oversee the final stages of building WITN’s new studio building on Arlington Boulevard in Greenville and then the transition of operations to the new facility.
A native of Ottawa, Kansas, Gentner and his wife Shelley live in historic Washington. He has over 20 years of experience in television, advertising and marketing.
Chris Mossman, who has spent five years as general manager of WITN has been promoted by Gray Television to be General Manager of WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky and serve as regional vice president of Gray’s Kentucky and Tennessee stations (Bowling Green, Hazard and Knoxville).
“I am thrilled to be leading WITN at a time when it is about to move into the premier broadcast facility in eastern North Carolina,” said Gentner. “While this will be a model for other modern broadcast operations across the nation, it is important for us to remember that we serve a wide geographical area and this will help us to be highly focused on the needs of our viewers throughout the area.”
WITN has been the NBC affiliate in eastern North Carolina since its launch in September, 1955. WITN now also carries the MyTV Network and Me-TV and manages the #1 media website in eastern North Carolina, WITN.COM.
