GUC: Power Knocked Out To 40,000 During Work On Substation

Greenville Utilities says approximately 40,000 GUC electric customers were without power just after 8:00 p.m. Friday night for a brief period of time due to an interruption in power supply from Duke Energy Progress.

GUC says the problem occurred at GUC's 230 kV point of delivery substation on Mumford Road near River Park North in Greenville. GUC says Duke Energy Progress employees were working on transmission circuits at the time of the interruption at 8:12 p.m. Power was restored by Duke Energy Progress at 8:17 p.m.
