For many stores that sell winter merchandise here in the east, the freezing temperatures are certainly welcome.
The Great Outdoors Provision Company in Greenville says they've seen a big boost in sales.
General Manager Matt Sadler says, "Mother nature, when she cooperates with us this time of the year is a huge boost to our business."
Sadler says compared to last year, sales are up for the last couple weeks.
Thursday we watched ECU students in heavy coats and boots trek across campus in 34 degree weather.
Students we talked with say layers are a must to survive in these cold temperatures.
