Updated: Fri 11:57 PM, Jan 18, 2013

Thousands and thousands of pounds of free food was handed out Friday night in Greenville.

The Churches Outreach Network on Albermarle Avenue organized the event, with an estimated 20,000 pounds of meat, 17,000 pounds of potatoes, as well as plenty of other food items.

Pastor Rodney Coles told us by the end of the night, he expected 300 people to be stocked up on free groceries. Pastor Coles said, "We asked them to please bring boxes because there's a lot of products that they're going to receive and it would not fit in a plastic bag."

The distribution started at 5:30 p.m. and Pastor Coles said it would last until every last food item had been given away.
