Final Person Arrested In Greene County Home Invasion

The fifth and final suspect in a violent home invasion earlier this month is now behind bars.

Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith says Demonta Bowden from the La Grange area turned himself into deputies Monday morning.

The 20-year-old Bowden was charged with breaking and entering, and common law robbery.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on August 13th when four men kicked in the door of the home on Jason School Lane and made off with a flat screen television. The victim was injured in the home invasion.

Smith says 17-year-old Russell Kornegay, 17-year-old Mohnee Bostic, 16-year-old Ronald Sauls, Jr, and 18-year-old Tarra Freeman have already been charged in the case.

Bowden was jailed on a $20,000 secured bond.

Deputies say they are still looking for a fifth suspect in the crime. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Demonta Bowden from the La Grange area should call deputies at 252-747-3411.
