Former Secretary Accused Of Embezzling $53,000 From Company

A Mount Olive woman is facing more charges that she stole thousands of dollars from her former employer.

Wayne County deputies arrested Jessica Swinson for embezzlement today.

Deputies say the woman stole $53,000 from Carolina Greco and its associated companies between last February and this past January. Swinson's job was to compare invoices to receipts and deputies say company records show numerous invoices were altered to hide the theft.

Swinson was first arrested last month after deputies say she used a stolen company credit card five different times at various Walmarts in the area. When deputies showed the business owner surveillance video from the stores, he identified the woman as his secretary.

The 30-year-old woman was jailed on a $5,000 secured bond.
