The former owner of a North Carolina funeral home is guilty of taking money a customer entrusted to pay future burial costs.
The Times-News of Burlington reports (http://bit.ly/SYqdPV ) that 27-year-old Larry Brandon Williams of Graham ran his business until state regulators revoked his license in March.
Williams was accused of embezzling almost $1,500 from Williams Funeral and Cremation Service when a woman paid for a pre-need service contract. That customer complained she paid but never got the corresponding legal documents.
Williams has since repaid the woman. He pleaded guilty this week and as a first offender was placed on probation for a year.
