Former Atlantic Beach Sheraton Reopening As DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel

There's good news for beach-goers who are looking for a place to stay on the Crystal Coast...the former Sheraton Hotel will reopen in June.

Newport Group, the new owners of the 9-story beach front hotel, announced today that it will reopen as the DoubleTree by Hilton Atlantic Beach Hotel.

Newport bought the damaged hotel at a foreclosure auction in December for $4.56 million. The hotel was severely damaged by Hurricane Irene in 2011 and has been closed since the storm.

The facility is currently undergoing a $5 million renovation, including upgrades to its lobby and front desk area as well as guest room makeovers.

Starting May 1, the hotel will begin accepting applications on-site for all open positions, ranging from food service opportunities to hotel management positions.
