Flushmate Recalls Pressure Flushing System

More than 2.3 million toilet flushing systems are being recalled after 304 people reported the units burst.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the pressure can lift the tank lid and shatter the tank. There are reports of 14 impact or laceration injuries and property damage.

Check inside your toilet and see if you have a series 503 Flushmate III Pressure-Assist Flushing System. They were made between October 1997 and February 2008. They were sold at Lowe's, The Home Depot and other stores.

If you have one, turn off the water to your toilet and contact Flushmate to request a free repair kit. The CPSC website says you can contact Flushmate toll-free at (800) 303-5123 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm's website at www.flushmate.com and http://recall.flushmate.com
