Flu Concerns Prompt Visitation Restrictions At Vidant Hospitals

Concerns over the spread of the flu have prompted Vidant Health to issue visitation restrictions at its facilities.

With the increase in flu and viral respiratory illness cases in the community, Vidant will not allow children under the age of 12 to visit patients at any Vidant Health facility.

The one exception is that children under the age of 12 may visit healthy newborns only if they live in the same household and do not have symptoms of a cold or flu such as fever, diarrhea, vomiting or headaches.
