Firefighter Injured Battling Craven County Trailer Fire

A volunteer firefighter was injured this morning battling a fire outside of Vanceboro.

Firefighters say the mobile home on Highway 118 was fulled engulfed in flames when they arrived.

One firefighter was injured when he fell through the back porch of the home. The firefighter, who is a captain in the department, is being treated at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.

We're told a family of five lived inside the mobile home and everyone was able to get out okay.

County Emergency Services Director Stanley Kite says the fire is not suspicious, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
