A homeowner was injured after fire this morning ripped through a home outside of Washington.
Flames from the home on Pinetree Drive leaped some 40 feet in the air and witnesses say they heard some type of explosion. Pinetree Drive is off of U.S. 264 West.
Homeowner Mike Woolard tells WITN that he was trying to light a water heater when it blew up in his face. Woolard has burns on his forearms from the explosion.
Fire departments from two counties were called out around 9:15 a.m. to the home, and by 9:45 it appeared they had the fire under control.
