A father wanted on child abuse charges involving his 3-month-old son has been arrested.
Farmville Police say that James Woods was arrested at Brooks Farm Drive around 4:30 Saturday afternoon. Woods was arrested on outstanding warrants for negligent child abuse inflicting serious physical injury, intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury, and an outstanding order for arrest.
Brooks was given a $102,000 bond.
The arrest stems from police response to a home on Brooks Drive this past Thursday for a child being burned. Police say they found an infant with what they describe as healing burns around the waist. The child was taken to Vidant Medical Center.
Already in custody is the mother, Whitley Everett. Everett was charged with assault on a child and accessory after the fact. She was given a $5,000 bond.
Farmville Police are looking for the father of a three-month old who is being treated for burns.
