Farmville Dogwood Festival runs through Sunday

Rides, food, music and family fun are all in store at the 28th annual Farmville Dogwood Festival.

The event kicks off Thursday and runs through Sunday.

On April 23, there will be rides from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. There will also be live music and the Farmville Fire Department food concession.

April 24 is family fun night, featuring food concessions, arts & crafts, rides, a free concert, a movie under the stars, and more.

The opening ceremonies are at 5:30 p.m. thFriday as well.

On Saturday, the festival features a breakfast on the Town Commons, arts & crafts and other vendors, helicopter tours, a stunt team exhibition, and a free fossil find and free entertainment.

The Saturday night concert, the "Farmville Dogwood Bash," features David Nail, along with the Mikele Buck Band and Native Run. Advance tickets are $20.

Sunday's schedule (4/26) includes food, art & crafts, rides, vendors, a BMX stunt team exhibition, a MotoCross show, and a cornhole tournament.
