Farmville Dogwood Festival Through Sunday

Rides, food, music and family fun are all in store at the 27th annual Farmville Dogwood Festival which kicks off today and runs through Sunday in Pitt County.

On Thursday, there will be rides and live music from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Friday is family fun night, featuring food concessions, arts & crafts, rides, a free concert, hot air balloon rides, a movie under the stars, and a comedy show.

The opening ceremonies are at 5:30 p.m. Friday, with WITN's own Heather King as emcee.

Saturday features a breakfast on the Town Common, arts & crafts and other vendors, car show, rides, events for kids, helicopter tours and live entertainment.

The Saturday night concert presented by WRNS features country music songwriter and recording artist Cole Swindell, The Swon Brothers (finalists on Season 4 of NBC's The Voice) and North Carolina native Emily Minor. Tickets are $20.00 in advance or $25.00 at the gate.

Sunday's schedule includes food, art & crafts, rides, vendors, a lumberjack show and more.
