Fallen Officers Honored In Martin County

Two law enforcement officers from the same county, killed in the line of duty, were honored Thursday in a permanent way.

Two bridges were dedicated in Martin County Thursday in honor of Sheriff Jerry Beach and Corporal Charlie Brown.

Sheriff Beach was shot and killed in 1992, by a bank robber who he was negotiating with, trying to get hostages released. Cpl. Brown was shot and killed in Williamston in 2009.

The dedication ceremony was held at the Martin County courthouse.
