FIRST ON WITN: Armed Men Beat Man In Kinston, Steal Car

Kinston police said they are looking for a stolen car and four to five armed men who beat a man, then stole the car early Wednesday morning.

Patrol Commander, Tim Dilday tells WITN at 12:15 Wednesday morning, police were called to 1105 Sycamore Road in Kinston.

Officer said 34-year-old Nikie Harris, originally from Kinston, said he was visiting the area. While outside the home on Sycamore Road, Harris said he was approached by four or five black men.

Harris tells officers at least one man had a gun, and the group beat him then stole his car.

Police said Harris suffered serious injuries and it was difficult to communicate with him to nail down a more detailed suspect description, though Harris said he did not know the robbers.

Harris was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officers are now looking for the robbers and a light blue, 1999 Buick LeSabre with NC tags AKV6521.
