The nationwide deadline to sign up for health insurance is only 13 days away and several organizations were in Greenville Tuesday to make sure you and your family don't face a penalty.
Enrollment specialists and directors encouraged residents to sign up to avoid the penalties that come with remaining uninsured by the end of the month.
The basic penalty is $95.00 that will be added to the 2014 income tax return.
They say of the 200,000 who have enrolled in the state, more than 90-percent have received financial assistance in paying for that monthly premium.
Enrollment specialists advise you call 855-733-3711 as soon as possible, saying the longer you wait, the more likely those appointments will be taken up.
More sign up events are scheduled in the east in the coming days. Thursday, March 20th, 9:00 a.m. Until 5:00 p.m. at the Lucille Gorham Inter-Generational Community Center, 1101 Ward Street, Greenville. Saturday, March 22, 10:00 a.m. Until 6:00 p.m. At Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 120 W. Martin Luther King Drive, Washington. Sunday, March 30th, 9:00 a.m. Until 2:00 p.m. Koinonia Christian Center Church, 1405 SW Greenville Blvd, Greenville.
