Employees Accused Of Embezzling At Kinston Grocery Store

Three local Piggly Wiggly employees are accused of embezzling from the grocery store they worked at.

According to Woody Spencer with Kinston Public Safety, Ronald Hill, Shannon Martinez, pictured here, and Shonia Whitfield are all accused of embezzling up to $30,000 from the Piggly Wiggly at 604 North McLewean Street in Kinston.

Spencer says they're facing several charges including five counts of embezzlement, larceny by an employee, and felony conspiracy. All three suspects are facing 16 charges each.

Hill and Martinez are due in court later this month; Whitfield is out on bond.
