Elderly Couple Loses Home In Plymouth Fire

An elderly couple lost their home in a house fire Monday, and it's not clear what started that destructive blaze.

Plymouth Fire Chief Joey Thompson says he personally knows the Bennett Family who lost their home at 2650 Highway 64 Monday afternoon. Crews were called there around 1 p.m. Thompson says Noah and Dot are an elderly couple, and they were lucky to get out of the house without getting injured.

Fire crews arrived to find flames shooting through the roof of the utility room near the furnace.

Chief Thompson says the Bennetts are very active in their church and are always doing good things for others. He says the people in their church will take care of the couple in their time of need.
