ECU Student & Friend Killed In Fiery Raleigh Crash

An ECU student will be buried tomorrow after being killed in a fiery weekend crash in Raleigh.

Police say Blake Tolley was a passenger in a car that struck a tree on Lynn Road Friday night. The vehicle split into two, and then caught fire.

The 23-year-old Tolley enrolled in ECU in the fall of 2009 and was a construction management major, according to the university.

Raleigh police say that speed and alcohol were likely factors in the accident. They say the car was going 90 miles per hour in a 45 m.p.h. zone.

Also killed was the driver, 23-year-old Logan Aronson. Both young men were not wearing seat belts, according to police.

A memorial service for Tolley will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
