The Highway Patrol says a driver is facing charges after his passenger jumped from a moving SUV in Kinston.
Troopers say 32-year-old Craig Penny faces failure to stay in lane and expired tags charges after he and his passenger got into an argument while driving down Sylvia Lane in Kinston, and the passenger jumped out of the SUV. Troopers say Penny then lost control of the Explorer and ran off the road into a ditch.
The passenger's name has not been released, but troopers say he was transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Troopers say it's unclear if the passenger will face any charges.
