Dozens of people gathered for the annual Lights of Love ceremony at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville Tuesday night.

Children from Arendell Parrott Academy treated the crowd to Christmas music. Staff spoke to the crowd about honoring the past, cherishing the present, and celebrating the future. The ceremony has been a tradition since 1987 when it was created to honor an Eastcare helicopter crew and their patient who died in an accident on their way to Vidant Medical Center.
