Dixon Running For Beaufort County Sheriff Again

Another person has announced he is running for the sheriff's position in Beaufort County being vacated by Alan Jordan who will not run again in 2014.

Republican Donald Dixon tells WITN that he is a candidate for the position.

Dixon ran against Jordan in 2010 and received 40 percent of the general election votes.

Dixon has nearly 5-years at the sheriff's office as a supervisor, and has spent the last 10 years as a licensed private investigator.

Dixon also teaches criminal justice part time at BCCC, and holds a BS degree from Mt. Olive College and a Master's degree from ECU in Criminal Justice.

At least four people have so far announced they are running for sheriff.
