UPDATE: Craven County Sex Offender Back In Custody

A seven-week-long run from the law for a registered sex offender and armed robbery suspect is now over in Craven County.

WITN obtained a brand new mug shot, that you see here, of 25-year-old Daryl Hill; he's currently behind bars in the Craven County jail. Havelock police say Hill cut off his GPS tracking device while running from police after an armed robbery in late in November.

The Havelock News says an anonymous tip led police to Hill, and his bond is set at $100,000.

Deputies say Daryl Hill is one of three suspects in a robbery in Havelock. After a chase, two of the people in a vehicle ran from police. Deputies say the 24-year-old Hill was one of them.

Hill, who had been convicted of second degree rape, was on satellite-based monitoring and was wearing a GPS anklet. But deputies say he cut it off while running from police.

Havelock police say Marvin Norris of Havelock was arrested after the chase. He's charged with felony larceny and possession of a stolen firearm.

Police say they got a call around 4:50 p.m. from a man who said he was an armed robbery victim and was following the getaway vehicle. Officers tried to intercept the vehicle, and eventually it stopped and three people ran. Norris was caught a short time later, while police continue to look for Hill and a third suspect.
