Deputies Say Proactive Patrolling Led To Arrest Of Three Men

Deputies say proactive patrolling led to the arrest of three people.

Stephen Woods of Snow Hill is now facing several charges including possession with a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen goods and attempted breaking and entering.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office noticed Woods and two male juveniles walking around the Road Runner Grill on US 13 in Farmville early Sunday morning. The men were questioned, but the deputy was called to another incident. When the deputy returned, they discovered the grill had been broken into.

A short time later, another deputy located their vehicle but the three fled on foot. Woods was apprehended and taken into custody but deputies did not find the two juveniles.

A few hours later the sheriff's office received a report of two men trying to steal two four-wheelers off a porch on Bell Arthur Road. The two male juveniles were found hiding under a house and are being referred to Juvenile Services and charged by petition.

Woods' bond was set at $350,000 secured.
