Deputies Looking For Person Of Interest In Homicide

The Greene County Sheriff's Department is searching for a person of interest in homicide that happened early Sunday morning.

Sheriff Lemmie Smith says his office got a call Sunday morning around 5:15 a.m. about a shooting on Edgemont Dr. in Snow Hill. The victim, 48-year-old Circo Gutierrez-Diaz, was rushed to Vidant Medical Center where he died several hours later.

The Sheriff's Office is looking for 32-year-old Rodrigo Garcia Perez who is a person of interest in the case. Perez is believed to be the last person to see the victim before the incident. He is described as standing 5 feet 4 inches tall with shoulder length black hair brown eyes and a scar above his lip.
