Deputies: James City Robber Ditches Clothes After Hitting Gas Station

Craven County deputies are looking for a man they believe ditched his clothes after robbing a gas station in James City.

Captain Joe Heckman says that it happened around 10 p.m. Friday at the Express It gas station.

Officials say that the man entered the business wearing a mask and demanded money from the cashier. Deputies say that the man implied that he had a weapon.

Officials say the man ran from the scene in the direction of Old Cherry Point Road.

Heckman says that a K9 with New Bern Police was called in and tracked a scent to some clothes in the woods believed to belong to the robber.
