Greenville police say they are investigating the death of a young man today.
The body of David Clifton was discovered this morning around 10:30 a.m. by friends who tried to wake him up today. The 21-year-old lived in an apartment on East Eleventh Street, near East Carolina University.
He was last seen alive around 1:00 a.m. and ECU says the victim was not a student at the university.
Detectives say there were no obvious signs of trauma and say at this point they have no reason to suspect foul play. Police say a drug overdose is being considered as the possible cause, but nothing has been ruled out. They say the young man's family lives near New Bern.
Clifton's body is being sent to the Pitt County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
