DEPUTIES: Woman Charged With Rape Of Teen

A Carteret County woman is accused of sexually assaulting a teen.

Deputies in Carteret County said they arrested 43-year-old Michelle Currie of Newport on Thursday.

Investigators said Currie engaged in a sexual offense with a 15-year-old boy who she knew.

Currie is now charged with one count of statutory rape.

She was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $150,000 bond.
