POLICE: Drug Dog Finds Crack and Powder Cocaine

Police said they nabbed a cocaine trafficker overnight.

53-year-old Bernard Paige of Greenville was arrested Thursday night after police said Officer C. Atkinson developed information in reference to the known drug offender who was said to be driving a white, work van. Police said according to their information, that van and suspect were carrying drugs around the west part of Greenville.

Police said once they spotted the van, they did a traffic stop, and called for backup from the Pitt County Sheriff's office and a K-9 unit. Police said Deputy Terry and his dog, Titan, found 43.8 grams of crack and powder cocaine, plus nearly 14 grams of marijuana, along with $1914.00.

Paige is now charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver for both cocaine and marijuana, plus maintaining a dwelling to sell those drugs. He is being held in Pitt County under a $500,000 bond.
