DEPUTIES: Hustle Mart Suspect Tried To Stab Detention Officer

One of the four people charged with killing three convenience store workers earlier this year has been moved to a state prison after deputies say he tried to stab a jail officer.

Antwan Anthony is now in Central Prison in Raleigh.

Major Jeff Phillips at the Pitt County Detention Center says Anthony attempted to stab the detention officer with a pen on November 15th as they served him a meal.

Anthony and three others are accused in the April 1st murders at the Hustle Mart outside of Farmville. He is also charged in the March killings of an Edgecombe County couple at their Princeville home.

If convicted in the Hustle Mart murders, Anthony faces the possibility of the death penalty.
