D.A. Says Beaufort Officers Justified In Killing Raleigh Man

The district attorney says Beaufort police officers were justified in the Halloween night shooting death of a Raleigh man.

Arthur Page, Jr. was shot after police say he attacked his sister and shot a neighbor when the woman ran across the street for help.

According to District Attorney Scott Thomas, Page ignored repeated commands to put the weapon down from Detective Eric Sassano and Patrolman Brian Willis. The man was shot as he was trying to reload his double barreled shotgun, aiming it at his sister.

The SBI investigated the shooting. Both the SBI and and Thomas conclude the shooting were justified and the two officers actions saved lives.
