Cutbacks For Havelock-Craven Library Begin Friday

Hours for a local library will be cut short due to a reduced budget.

The Havelock-Craven County Public Library will be cutting 12 hours a week starting Friday.

The change in hours is due to the City of Havelock cutting the library's budget.

This means Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, the Havelock library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the library will operate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Other affected areas of the library budget includes the purchase of new books, magazines and movies.
