A Vanceboro man faces about a dozen charges after deputies say he violated a protective order by kidnapping three people.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says Donnie Smith of Vanceboro was charged with assault on a female two weeks ago, after deputies followed up on a domestic violence dispute at a home on Christol Lane.
About a week and a half after the 22-year-old posted bond, deputies say Smith broke the domestic violence protective order and broke into the same home.
We're told he assaulted a male inside, and then forced a female and two children to leave with him.
Deputies located the three at a residence in Craven County.
Smith is being held without bond and is charged with second-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, and felony breaking and entering to terrorize, among a long list of charges.
