Cops Find Drugs On Shady Street; Man Charged With Trafficking Heroin

A man who police say lives on Shady Street is now calling the county jail his home.

Jacksonville police have charged Jamel Brown with multiple drug counts, including several heroin trafficking charges.

The 23-year-old Brown was arrested when officers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at Bob's Auto on Highway 17. When officers approached and tried to speak with the driver, they say Brown ran away.

After a brief foot chase, police nabbed the man and found several bags of heroin on him.

At the man's home on Shady Street they found even more heroin, pills and drug paraphernalia.

Brown is jailed on a $400,000 secured bond.
