Controlled Burn Near Cherry Point

Smoke from a controlled burn may be seen near Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

That smoke may linger through to Sunday.

The Air Station says the burn helps reduce forest fuels, improves the condition of training land, and can actually enhance the habitats for wildlife.
