On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
The skies will go sunny on Wednesday, but the highs won't get much above the middle 40s with wind chills in the 30s. The winds will relax Wednesday night allowing the low to drop to the lower to middle 20s, except near 30° near the beaches. Milder air will start to build back in on Thursday with highs in the mid 50s. Temps will reach the upper 60s to low 70s by the weekend.
A Freeze Warning has been issued for much of coastal Carolina on Wednesday morning. The warning includes Beaufort, Craven, Carteret, Pamlico, Hyde, Washington, Tyrrell and mainland Dare counties from 3:00 am to 8:00 am. Temperatures are likely to go below freezing again on Wednesday night and early Thursday. The cold temperatures should end the growing season for many coastal communities.
