Over a hundred grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and thousands of dollars were seized by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office following a single car accident Sunday morning.
Captain Anzell Harris says that Deputy Phillip Moyer responded to the call on Highway 561 in Hollister at 8:11 a.m. He says Danny Webb, 55, was standing outside of the car, while the driver remained inside with an ankle injury.
Moyer noticed suspicious behavior from Webb who had a bag tucked under his arm. As Moyer talked to Webb, Webb ran and threw items from the bag, according to Captain Harris. However, that didn't stop authorities from capturing him.
Moyer seized roughly 113 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, a box of plastic bags, and over $16,000.
Webb is in the Halifax County Jail charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, trafficking cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance, and resisting a public officer.
Webb was given a $10,000 secured bond. He is set to appear in court on October 2, 2014.
Deputy Moyer is still investigating the incident.
