The giving season is definitely alive and well in Eastern Carolina, with 500 lucky families going home with turkeys less than a week from Thanksgiving.
The English Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville off Evans Street held the giveaway, sponsored by H&H Transportation, Roberts & Brown Law Firm, and Jackie Parker Bail Bonding.
We’re told thousands of dollars were spent on 500 turkeys. The line for the giveaway wrapped around the church, with some people there as early as 6 a.m.
The free birds were more than appreciated by the folks we talked to.
